On the 8th of May, one day before the Victory Day over fascism, the League of Communist Youth of Yugoslavia (SKOJ) displayed a banner reading “VICTORY DAY, NOT EUROPE DAY” in front of the Europe House in Belgrade. In this way, SKOJ paid tribute to those who liberated Europe from fascism, in the first place soldiers of the Red Army and the Yugoslav Partisans, while also expressing opposition to the spread of European Union propaganda and influence in Serbia, which is a prison of nations and the successor to Hitler’s United Europe.
It is the European Union that politically, militarily, and financially supports Zelensky’s fascist regime in Ukraine, thereby prolonging the war against Russia and the suffering of both peoples — Russian and Ukrainian. Just like Hitler’s United Europe, the countries of the European Union are rearming themselves and introducing mobilization measures for their citizens, all with the aim of further escalating the war against Russia. The oligarchs from Brussels, Berlin, and Paris are prepared to sacrifice young people in order to further plunder surrounding nations and thereby attempt to save the Western economy. SKOJ expresses full solidarity with the people of Donbass, who have been fighting against the Kiev fascist junta since 2014.
The European Union does not represent any kind of anti-fascist project. EU institutions regularly equate fascism and communism, while Serbia, under the order from the EU, adopted rehabilitation and restitution laws that absolved the crimes of a large number of collaborators with the occupiers during the Second World War.
SKOJ advocates for the Europe House in Belgrade to be closed and opposes any form of promotion of the European Union and the so-called “European values” in our country. Contrary to what the anti-popular authorities in Serbia claim, the European Union is not any kind of perspective for Serbia, but rather a prison of nations that exploits workers for the interests of big capital. SKOJ stresses out that Serbia should show solidarity not with the occupiers and criminals from Europe, but with socialist and anti-imperialist countries such as China and Russia, and that instead of striving for EU membership it should turn toward other initiatives such as BRICS.
